This is such an awful take. So many people who made Twitter a great community site now only use it to announce projects, if they haven’t quit entirely. Leaving looks like posting less, then reading less, then forgetting to read entirely.

Tellingly, the examples used from various failed conservative exits are guys like Bongino, who use social media for fundraising, both by direct ask, and performative outrage. Clowns cannot be first out the door without ending up like Yiannopoulos, but they must follow the herd.

People leave Twitter all the time, and the real question to ask, now, six months from now, two years from now, is:

If you met someone who electrified you, what communities would you be excited to introduce them to, and is Twitter high on that list?
