@b After a few years break, I've recently used a Windows machine. The realization that I have to scour the internet for very basic software was awful.

@jaranta @b And once you find you get the joy of uninstalling all the extra crap that it came bundled with...

... could you just imagine if that behaviour was considered acceptable in the Linux world. Run `apt-get install` and have it install a big pile of bundled adware instead of just the application specified + minimum necessary dependencies?

@jaranta @b nuget and chocolates are a poor substitute but a huge achievement considering the limitations of the platform

@b I vaguely remember when I first encountered that. In the Windows days it was a case of randomly browsing around the internet looking for X on various sites of dubious repute and hoping what I'd downloaded didn't come with malware.
