Weekend mornings are sometimes eventful! Some great corners to ride. Once again San Diego Lifeguards always awesome hooking me up with the hot hot water and fine foot wrapping. @hee_nalu sorry that happened to you! I must say, spending as much time as I do adjacent to the intertidal zone I know the risk! The first time I stepped on one the pain was absolutely the worst I’d ever felt: so much so it made me laugh with incredulity.
@artlung Same. The pain for me intensified later that evening.
@artlung oh wow, that looks so painful. Is there anything you can do to prevent it? I vaguely remember something about shuffling your feet when I was a kid, don’t know if that’s an urban legend.
Ouch! Five in two years? Convincing me to stay on the beach, haha.
@gregorlove.com first one was in July 2021. I’ve been to the beach more than 300 times since then - 5 hits though one of those was a small slash with no venom injected) means it happens less than 2% of the time- so 1 in 50.
