@exchgr What kind of liberal fantasy posting is this. What kind of twelve dimensional chess is he imagining exists here.

David Michaels

@exchgr Is he imagining that Merrick Garland is going to be persecuted like he should have persecuted Trump in some bizarre busted clock twice a day thing??? I cannot imagine what headspace is making this.

@vwampage yeah i gotta say i have no clue what his angle is here

@exchgr @vwampage I think it’s a twist on ‘at least fascists make the trains run on time’. Coz the Democrats were so inept they couldn’t even do that, and they’ll be beat to it by the apparent competence of the other guys who will show us how they’ll improve things. I see a lot of ‘liberal’ people starting to tilt this way

@skinnylatte @vwampage ah yeah, i guess that makes sense if you think trump is competent, which he is not. (except insofar as he’s good at wriggling out of legal trouble by the skin of his teeth)

@exchgr @vwampage I feel like some people may not believe that the fascists are competent specifically but the idea that ‘democracy and diversity makes things messy and not good’ feels like it’s picking up steam in many corners in a world that’s turning hard right

@skinnylatte @vwampage yeah i think it’s some weird combination of “anything but neoliberalism” and the almost complete absence of any real power on the left, while the right is successfully reindoctrinating lots of people in that vacuum. of course the right wing worldview is entirely vibes-based, and the vibes are dissonant with reality, so it’ll come back to bite them in the end. the question is how long it’ll take

@exchgr @skinnylatte This feels about right to me, some degree of resignation and sadness giving way to trying to justify that the fascists are doing something right (they are not)
